Madagascar rosewood fretboard 530x70x9mm
Madagascar rosewood fretboard 530x70x9mm
Decripition:
The density of African rosewood is approximately 850kg/m3. Its colour is varied and can range tremendously, from violet through shades of orange and brown to a chocolate tone. This wood usually darkens during its drying and finishing processes. The trees from the region where dalbergia baroni is found are not of great diameter. The characteristic black streaks, known as “spider webbing”, are always on the exterior of the trunk. In order to obtain as much pattern as possible we cut the backs flat sawn. The sides, however, we cut perfectly quarter sawn, and these tend to have less markings because they are cut from the centre of the log. Dueto the narrowness of the trees and to the fact that the spider webbing is on the extrerior part of the trunk, when we cut the backs the pattern changes rapidly throughout the log, often producing a slight asymmetry. We will never find two Madagascar rosewood guitars the same, each set is different and this is an asset of its
beauty.
