Care at home for keeping your timber at 45-55% humidity. Large differences in humidity causes the wood to bend and prone to tearing. The ideal temperature is between 18 - 27C .

Lacquer, glue and machine heads

 
For tools, paints and machine heads you've come to the right place. We sell nitrocellulose lacquer in a spray can, and two component lacquers of our own brand that are perfectly clear and transparent and does not affect the color of your wood. This two component paint can properly polish and can withstand rough handling. For hardware and machine heads , please contact the Gitaarbouw Shop. We sell Schaller tuners, Gotoh, Rubner and Der Jung.



Because in Belgium and The Netherlands itself to obtain little or no special wood for guitar making, we specialize in various kinds of wood which are perfect for building your own instrument. You can think of Spruce (European and Engelmann) and Red Cedar for tops. Indian rosewood, cocobolo, American Walnut, Cypresse, Maple, Padouk, Madagascar Rosewood, etc. for back and sides. Necks for steel string guitar and Spanish (classical) guitars, you should think of Cedrela and African Mahogany. Where Cedrela traditional wood species for the classical guitar, although this species is increasingly used for the acoustic guitar. The finger board is made of Ebony but many luthiers uses Indian rosewood, but also species such as Pao Ferro and Madagascar Rosewood are common. But that's not all the do! We also provide a service of sanding the wood for you in the desired thickness. For this we use a special sander which gradually brings the wood to the right thickness. So you spend more time in front of the nicer aspects which entails guitar making with them.
